10 reasons why you should own Galaxy Note 2

Everywhere I go I see people having Samsung Galaxy Note 2. As a proud of owner of Note 2 and a big fan of Samsung products, I have my own reasons why I bought the Note 2 even though I owned the First Galaxy Note.

I am not going to bore you with a long winded reasons and I am pretty sure you want me to get straight to the point. So, allow me to list down the reasons why you must own the Note 2.

  1. AMOLED screen – They are super clear. The videos are awesome and when I watched movie, it doesn’t look pixelated at all. I just simply love to watch my youtube videos on my Note 2!!!!
  2. Super Beam – Forget about bluetooth to transfer your files. I transferred the Step Up 4 movie within 2 minutes using this Super Beam. Awesome right!!!
  3. S planner (Calendar) – This is the feature I love the most. When I own the first Note, I thought that it would be nice if I can just draw on the calendar and make it more colourful. I guess they heard my request and they did it (Unfortunately, it will only work when it is on portrait mode)
  4. Phone – When you are in a contact’s screen, you can just simply place the phone to your ear, and the phone automatically calls the person. It saves me time when I am in hurry :)
  5. Google Now – This is an awesome feature. In the morning, my phone will inform how long it will take me to get to office. In the evening, it will tell me how long it will take me to reach home. Google Now will also inform me what time I should leave to reach my appointment venue on time. It gives an auto alert where it will say ‘Time to leave for your appointment to reach on time’… Cool huh!!!
  6. Screen Size – With 5.5inch screen size, browsing internet on the go is comfortable for me. Of course, you can’t lug around your laptop to browse internet, right. I own a blackberry and browsing internet with it is tedious and painful to the eye & finger (scrolling a lot)… hehehe
  7. Google Play – Google Play allows me to download apps such as Translator, Skimble (for my workout), Better home must have recipes, Shopping List, Games and so much more (Of course, any android does have google play.. hehehe but seeing it in a bigger screen is awesome)
  8. Stylus – Oh yes, the stylus has helped me to jot down my resolutions, sketch some ideas and etc. Sometimes, I am lazy to type on the screen, all I do is write down my email content and Note 2 pick up my writing very well (Not only in English but also in Malay)
  9. Ability to remember – The longer you use the more Note 2 understands you, it will remember as you type and it just gives you the list of suggestions based on your habit. It saves me time whenever I wanted to fill up a form.
  10. Jelly Bean  - Yes it runs Jelly Bean – the best OS ever!!!

By the way, if you are wondering whether it is big for a woman. I find it very comfortable. I just place them in my wristlet of handbag to carry it around. As for men, hmmmm… don’t put it in your pocket, my friend lost hers (just bought 1 week) to a pick pocket :(

SAMSUNG Galaxy Note 2 comes in Titanium Grey, White and Pink now… RRP now is RM1999

It was a good experience being in the talk show. I must convey my special thanks to Zul Hilmi from PrimeWorks for giving me an opportunity to be a temporary celebrity :)

Husband did ACL surgery

Although I am on a long leave right now but I am full time working at home taking care of my hubby who has just completed his ACL surgery. I feel working in my office is less tiring than what I am doing at home right now. Taking care of someone who has just done a knee surgery is tough if you are alone because you practically have to do everything. Feeding, physio exercise, ensuring he makes the trip safely to the restroom, giving his medications, putting ice on his stitch constantly, consoling him when he is in pain, sleepless nights because he will be in pain and I have to wake up to give him pain medication and etc… First week was very challenging and my back pain which was gone for quite some time returned. My pain is a lot worse now but I have to suck it up because if I am also in pain who is going to take care of my husband.

Anyway, the good thing about this entire thing is my hubby appreciates me a lot more. He said that he is lucky to have a wife like me because I dropped everything in office just to care for him. He says that constantly and it makes my tiredness and pain away :)

Now, my mother in law (MIL) and sister in law (SIL) is back from India, so I am a bit more relaxed. My hubby’s knee pain has reduced after he started taking snakefish (Ikan haruan). Apparently, to heal your inner wound, eating snakefish is really good. Initially, my hubby refuse to take it because he heard people saying it will taste bad and smells fishy :P . But he decided to try and he said that it is not that bad. The taste was okay and didn’t have the fish smell. On his first day taking the snakefish, for the first time, he slept peacefully without waking up. I am not sure whether the pain killer arcoxia helped or not but I do now that the swelling around his knee has reduced a lot, so it definitely should be the snakefish making it better.

My husband still has another 3 more weeks to go before he is off the knee brace and put his full weight on his leg. I do hope that he won’t be in much pain when he applies pressure on his leg. Please do pray for his full and fast recovery…

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is amazing!!!

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is the hype right now… Everyone said that it is the best phone in Malaysia currently and so many would love to get their hands on it. Of course, I am no different than them as well… as a gadget freak … no, no, no… as a gadget queen :) I must have one too… hehehe…

Unfortunately, the price is too steep and I definitely can’t fork out RM2,299 to pay for it. Thanks to Celcom I need to pay only RM1,699 for the device when I sign for 18months contract for one of their plan. I sold off my previous Note for RM1,100 and I topped off RM600 only…hehehe… So, now I am a proud owner of the most amazing phablet, Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

I have uploaded a short unboxing video on my channel, so do watch it. By the way, if you are looking forward for a review, I’ll be posting one soon. However, if you can’t wait and really want to check out some thorough and good review, check out the TechRadar. Their review is written in detail and pretty much covers each aspect.

Received RM200 worth of Google AdWords

It must be my lucky day… I received RM200 worth of Google AdWords from Google. A while back I used Google Adwords to advertise my eyelashes. I only purchased RM40 at that time because I wasn’t sure how it works at that time. Actually, I still don’t know how it works :)

Anyway, initially I thought that the voucher worth RM200 is only applicable if I purchase more ads from them but I was wrong. The credit was redeemed with no extra purchase from the Google Adwords. I added 53 keywords to direct the would be readers to my blog. So, here I am RM200 richer to place an ad in Google. I am running the advertisement till December 2012… let’s see how the advertisement expands my readers

A review on Gamila Secret Soap

Do you have sensitive skin?? Trouble finding the right cleanser for yourself???

Whether you are female or male, I think these questions are quite common among us… I have a friend who is very sensitive towards products which contain fragrance. Each time she uses a fragrant product on her face, her skin will react by producing acne or black marks all over her face. It will only stop if she stops using the product. But there was once, the reaction continued and her face was scarred for almost a year and a half. She had to look for powders and foundation which covers those marks but since her skin is so sensitive and most of the products contain fragrance, she was left in vain.

Does this scenario sounds familiar to you??? Well, you can sigh in relief because I have discovered a natural product that can be used for different purpose. Introducing Gamila Secret Soap…

The earlier line sounds so like advertisement… :P hehehe… But, the soap is extremely good and I would want you to try it as well because it can do wonders to your skin… For your info gals… I have really sensitive skin. I can’t just simply apply any products because they can be too drying for my skin. I really need to check on the ingredients of the products before buying coz I know that some of the products can be sensitive for me.

What i like about Gamila Secret Soap is it contains 100% natural ingredient and it smells so good. There are no chemicals, no synthetic perfumes, no artificial colouring, no preservatives and no animal fats too. It may look like any other normal soap but it can gives you and instant moist while your are taking your bath.

To use it, you must first activate the ingredients by moistening it in lukewarm water. Just rub the soap in between your hands until there are some sticky substance in between your hands. Then, you can apply it on your face or your body. As for me, I apply it just to cleanse my face because I am scared that if I use it for my body I will finish it faster :P (I am soooo stingy… hehehe) After massaging it on your face/body, just wash it with water and you will feel your skin is soft and hydrated. I did feel, my skin was tugging a bit (probably my saggy skin is firming up :D ) but on my 3rd day, I don’t feel that anymore. After a month of usage, your old skin will be replaced by new skin. I think I started to have a fairer skin and the redness around my cheek is almost gone too.

Since the soap is activated when you wet it with water, you must ensure that the soap is dry always… otherwise it will start to melt (when water is present). So, you might need to get the special soap dish with the soap if you want the soap to last you longer. However, if you decided not to purchase the dish, you can use your ordinary soap dish… but you must always ensure that the dish is always dry and not wet.

As I mentioned earlier, the Gamila Secret Soap can be used for several purpose. It can be your facial cleanser, mask, shaving cream (for men or women), feminine hygiene wash and also for your body. Now, your bathroom shelf will not be cluttered anymore because you can use this soap for everything…

New DIY Project

When I was still young, my mom thought me how to sew… but at that time, I was not interested. Probably because I don’t what am I going to accomplish by sewing. However, all of a sudden, my curiosity for sewing piqued. Even my husband was surprised when I expressed my interest for sewing. He said that he didn’t see it coming… hahaha…

So, I got my mom’s old sewing machine (I think it should be at least 15 years) and started my first project. And Voila… I created my first hand bag… so, how does it look?? I am not entirely satisfied with the results coz it is clearly shown like it was made by a novice… Well… technically I am a NOVICE :P I should be happy with the result since I made it with no help :) pat yourself vinnie for job well done…

For me, the T-seam junction (for the bottom) was very confusing and no clear instruction was given in the book that I bought (Cath Kidston)…  I couldn’t find any info regarding this on youtube either… I just did it based on a hunch and it came out pretty well…

To tell the truth, in the beginning, I thought to myself, how hard sewing can be. I realised that no work is an easy task… it is only easy when you are well practiced. I started my DIY Project at about 1pm and finished it around 6.15pm. By the end of my project, I had eye pain, could be because I was concentrating too much. No wonder, most tailors have specs one… my mom is included in that list… And we think, our eyes only get ruined when we sit in front of the computer too long :P

By the way, if you are wondering how did I sew this… I bought a book titled Sew by Cath Kidston (sold in local MPH Stores) for RM54.90. The book has basic such as what is hem, or how you should do the finishing and etc. They have all the pattern ready, so all you need to do is transfer it to your tracing paper and you are ready to start you very own DIY Handbag… they have plenty of other designs which you might be interested.

female Levi’s® Curve ID Blogger Award

Is your gene’s preventing you from getting the perfect fitting jeans? Is your hip-waist combination making jeans fitting an uphill battle? If this is you… you can now cheer the loudest, as the war is won. Thanks to the ammunition from Levi’s with their new line of Curve ID.

Jeans is like your better-half, so picking the perfect fit is a MUST.

So to all the women out there, if you have curves (whether in the  right or wrong place) Levi’s Curve ID will flow enhancing your figure. If your hips prevents better fitting jeans… then Levi’s Curve ID is the answer. Thanks to Levi’s Curve ID, size no longer matters… all you need is shape and heads will turn with every step you take.

If you are not sure what is your shape… then sit right there and visit the Levi’s Curve ID website. Answer a few simple questions and Levi’s will tell you whether you are a slim, demi or bold curve.

I appreciate Levi’s for introducing the line according to a woman’s curve because shape matters to me and not size. I still remember I  was stressed out when I my clothing size increases every year.  What I failed to notice is that I start to develop a more curvaceous figure. Every woman should realise that they have their own distinctive shape. Some are slim, some are petite and some are curvy (with perfect hour glass figure :D ) I am pretty sure when they try on jeans which focuses on size generally, they end up with jeans which highlights muffin top (because being women, we refuse to get in to a pair of pants which shows larger size) and of course it doesn’t flatter your figure. Even big stars such as Marilyn Monroe was size 12 but size didn’t matter to her … she flaunted her shape instead and we know how men loved her…

Levi’s knows women wants to wear clothing that accentuates their figure, hence, they came up with a line which flatters our curve. When the Levi’s Curve Id line was introduced, I am pretty sure many women out there would have a huge sigh of relief. I am one of them and right now, I am flaunting my sexy silhouette to my dearest husband because the Levi’s curve Id certainly revealed the sexy me…

I am a Demi Curve

Finally… I can embrace my curve and forget my size… So what are you waiting for.. come join me and get into jeans that fits each inch. Make the first move and hit the Levi’s Curve ID website and discover a whole new you.

Sleepless nights….

Yup, the title says it all… lately, I have been very restless… reason is because I am so tired that I can’t even sleep. I feel like taking a long break to clear my mind from work. Right now, I am rubbing my eyes because I am tired… but I bet that when I hit the bed, I will be unable to sleep. I looked up in the internet to find the reason causing my sleepless nights.. and the following article is really helpful (although I don’t smoke or drink)…

You’re exhausted, you can’t wait to sleep. Your head hits the pillow and – frustration. You open your eyes in the middle of the night and find yourself staring at – the clock – which coldly stares back. And you just read that people who sleep less than seven hours die younger and last night you got…

Cool it. Americans have gotten so used to chronic sleep deprivation maybe 95% or more of us no longer knows what it’s like to feel fully alert, awake, and aware.
You know common causes for not sleeping, from shift work to the national scourge of majordepression, increasingly common as millions can’t find work. But here’s a few you may not have heard about – and which can easily be fixed:

1. Clockwatching. You wake up, then look at the clock to know how much time you have left to sleep, right?

Wrong. Time rules life, particularly the important 24 hour rhythms that make heart attacks five times more common on Monday morning and set up early morning disasters like Three Mile Island and Chernobyl (see my “Body Clock Advantage” for how to use those clocks profitably.) So don’t be surprised if you wake every morning at 3 AM, because looking at the clock entrains those 24 hour rhythms.

2. Caffeine’s long reach. My friend Harvard professor Quentin Regestein liked to explain how two young women diagnosed with narcolepsy lost their uncontrollable daytime sleepiness once they gave up their two cups of morning coffee. Wonderful as caffeine is, it can last a long time. The average “half-life” of caffeine is around five hours – after the first big hit distributed to all tissues your body gets rid of half the stuff in five hours, three quarters in ten hours, seven eighths in fifteen hours – which means caffeine remains in your blood when you’re trying to sleep.
And plenty of us knock off caffeine much more slowly – which means lots is there when it’s time for shuteye. So when your teenager gulps two energy drinks to rev up for afternoon soccer, don’t be shocked when she says she can’t sleep.

3. Turning sleep into a job. It’s eleven PM, you have an important early morning meeting, you’ve got to wake at 5:30 to shower, put on make-up, rouse the kids and make their lunches so you better sleep every minute!
Except often you don’t. Worrying about sleep, thinking about sleep, is a great way to Not Sleep. Called psychophysiologic insomnia, it’s a particular nightmare for working professionals. And consider your kid whose cell phone lays next to her head all night wondering who will call with an absolutely amazing story?

4. The amazing changing ways of booze. Lots of people use alcohol as their knockout drop, yet few know that alcohol thes sleeping pill will cause 15-25 more arousals that night. Most won’t remember these brainarousals, because you usually have to be up 6-8 minutes to remember being awake. Plus it’s the rare late night imbiber who knows long term alcohol use may provoke severe insomnia, or that alcohol’s effects on the brain are 2-3 times greater at midnight than 6 PM, a cause of major night-time mortality.

5. Inadequately treated sleep disorders. For the millions of sleep apneics out there, it’s time to wake up to the problem of insomnia. Studies presented at the recent sleep meeting in San Antonio demonstrated half or more of people with sleep apnea are also insomniac.
Why? Because CPAP machines and dental devices often do not solve sleep apnea let alone other sleep problems, nor cut the system wide inflammation sleep apnea causes.

6. Smoking. Sorry smokers, but most of you undergo nicotine withdrawal every time you sleep. Your brain probably wakes up an extra 15-20 times.

What to Do?

Simple – use your body the way it’s built. Hide clocks behind a book; keep caffeine use to early to mid morning; rest before sleep, and avoid late night alcohol. Quitting smoking is much tougher, but sometimes knowing what tobacco does to sleep gives that last necessary incentive to stop the expensive weed.
Fortunately sleep is a part of rest that’s all about conditioning – the little behaviors that make falling asleep restful and fun, as sleep reworks and rewires your brain. Even 20-30 minutes of walking leads to new brain cell growth at night.
Remember that acorn on the forest floor? That acorn can generate a grand oak tree. That power of regeneration is what rest does for your body. Much of the insides of your cells are replaced in hours to days. The proteins pumping your heart that lets you read this sentence – gone in sixty, ninety minutes. Not as fast as Nick Cage stealing a Ferrari, but really fast.
It’s time to give rest a chance.
