Whoa!!! You have got to watch this video because it features Acer’s latest Acer Aspire P3 Convertible Ultrabook™. The Ultrabook™, Inspired by Intel has every features which I have imagined about 20 years ago. YES, boys and girls… I still remember back then, the only colour, the computer had was green… at that time, I thought, how nice it would be if the computer is available in colour. Since the computer was big and not portable, I wished that my computer was portable because I wanted to use it where ever I go.

Then, when they discovered laptop, I was hoping they are light and have a touch screen because sometimes it is agonising to use non responsive mouse and when it is super heavy to lug it around…Guess what??? the Aspire P3 Convertible Ultrabook is ultraportable!!! Now, you can just bring it in your handbag… I still remember when I was in New York, I had some serious should pain just because I had to bring my 2.5kg laptop where ever i go. I am a paranoid woman when it comes to leaving precious stuff in the hotel :)

And boy, do I love when I found out that Acer has Touch Centric features… Awesome!!! Well, that is not all people… the Acer Aspire P3 Convertible Ultrabook is also detachable.. It looks just like a tab when you detach it… talk about serious lightness man!!! Now, that is SUPER AWESOME, right!!!!

10 reasons why you should own Galaxy Note 2

Everywhere I go I see people having Samsung Galaxy Note 2. As a proud of owner of Note 2 and a big fan of Samsung products, I have my own reasons why I bought the Note 2 even though I owned the First Galaxy Note.

note2pink_sc

I am not going to bore you with a long winded reasons and I am pretty sure you want me to get straight to the point. So, allow me to list down the reasons why you must own the Note 2.

  1. AMOLED screen – They are super clear. The videos are awesome and when I watched movie, it doesn’t look pixelated at all. I just simply love to watch my youtube videos on my Note 2!!!!
  2. Super Beam – Forget about bluetooth to transfer your files. I transferred the Step Up 4 movie within 2 minutes using this Super Beam. Awesome right!!!
  3. S planner (Calendar) – This is the feature I love the most. When I own the first Note, I thought that it would be nice if I can just draw on the calendar and make it more colourful. I guess they heard my request and they did it (Unfortunately, it will only work when it is on portrait mode)
  4. Phone – When you are in a contact’s screen, you can just simply place the phone to your ear, and the phone automatically calls the person. It saves me time when I am in hurry :)
  5. Google Now – This is an awesome feature. In the morning, my phone will inform how long it will take me to get to office. In the evening, it will tell me how long it will take me to reach home. Google Now will also inform me what time I should leave to reach my appointment venue on time. It gives an auto alert where it will say ‘Time to leave for your appointment to reach on time’… Cool huh!!!
  6. Screen Size – With 5.5inch screen size, browsing internet on the go is comfortable for me. Of course, you can’t lug around your laptop to browse internet, right. I own a blackberry and browsing internet with it is tedious and painful to the eye & finger (scrolling a lot)… hehehe
  7. Google Play – Google Play allows me to download apps such as Translator, Skimble (for my workout), Better home must have recipes, Shopping List, Games and so much more (Of course, any android does have google play.. hehehe but seeing it in a bigger screen is awesome)
  8. Stylus – Oh yes, the stylus has helped me to jot down my resolutions, sketch some ideas and etc. Sometimes, I am lazy to type on the screen, all I do is write down my email content and Note 2 pick up my writing very well (Not only in English but also in Malay)
  9. Ability to remember – The longer you use the more Note 2 understands you, it will remember as you type and it just gives you the list of suggestions based on your habit. It saves me time whenever I wanted to fill up a form.
  10. Jelly Bean  - Yes it runs Jelly Bean – the best OS ever!!!

By the way, if you are wondering whether it is big for a woman. I find it very comfortable. I just place them in my wristlet of handbag to carry it around. As for men, hmmmm… don’t put it in your pocket, my friend lost hers (just bought 1 week) to a pick pocket :(

SAMSUNG Galaxy Note 2 comes in Titanium Grey, White and Pink now… RRP now is RM1999

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 in pink

I don’t know why but lately I have been obsessed with PINK. I didn’t even realise that I started loving this hue. When Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was launched, I knew in my heart that it will be released in Pink as well. However, my lack of patients caused me to get the titanium grey in 2 weeks after it was released. I am loooooonging for the soft pink Galaxy Note 2 but I am not going to change my Note 2. Titanium grey looks good. Too add a feminine look to it, I got this Paris Pink Case :) It was gift actually.

My aunty and I went to pasar malam and we visited one of stalls which sells gadget accessories. I insisted her getting a case for her Ipad mini because I just don’t like to see expensive gadget not being protected good. Hehehe… You can imagine how well I keep my electronic stuff :P While we were looking for her case, I stumbled upon this and I wanted to buy it. But, my aunty wanted to buy it, so she she ended up paying for it…  Hahaha… Next time, must bring her along when I buy some stuff.

My pink note 2 case #note2 @samsung

I like this case cause it is rubberised and protect all sides of the note 2. Quality is good and doesn’t look cheap. I found similar cases in shopping malls sold between RM 60 – RM99. So, are you wondering how much I bought it for???

Price – Only RM30 :)

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is amazing!!!

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is the hype right now… Everyone said that it is the best phone in Malaysia currently and so many would love to get their hands on it. Of course, I am no different than them as well… as a gadget freak … no, no, no… as a gadget queen :) I must have one too… hehehe…

Unfortunately, the price is too steep and I definitely can’t fork out RM2,299 to pay for it. Thanks to Celcom I need to pay only RM1,699 for the device when I sign for 18months contract for one of their plan. I sold off my previous Note for RM1,100 and I topped off RM600 only…hehehe… So, now I am a proud owner of the most amazing phablet, Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

I have uploaded a short unboxing video on my channel, so do watch it. By the way, if you are looking forward for a review, I’ll be posting one soon. However, if you can’t wait and really want to check out some thorough and good review, check out the TechRadar. Their review is written in detail and pretty much covers each aspect.

Jeans for Macbook Air 2012

I was looking for a good cover for my new beloved Macbook Air. I tried to look online but nothing seem to be very attractive to me. I did like the Capdase Diary cover but I was scared that my handbag will look too bulky or it will be too heavy when I lug around my MBA.

It is quite disheartening that our local online Apple Store doesn’t sell third party products for Mac. If I am not mistaken they used to sell but they stopped. My colleague, Ogy has mentioned that I should go and check out the local stores which sell the third party products for Mac. So, he and I visited the Machine outlet at the Sg. Wang Plaza during lunch time and I found this.

They had so many choices as they had lots of sleeves and casings for the MBA but I fell in love with this the instant I laid my eyes on it. It is by GGMM from Hong Kong and the products material is Jeans. The edge of my MBA are covered pretty well with a strong plastic like thing. So, I am pretty sure that even if I keep the MBA in my handbag, there will be no scratches. If you are wondering whether your MBA will be hot when you put this sleeve, the answer is not. I have used it for almost 6-8 hours but I don’t have heat issue caused by the sleeve.

An accessory for your Galaxy Note

I love touch screen but when it comes to the speed of typing, I rather use the conventional keyboard. That’s exactly what I got for my Galaxy Note as its companion.

image

Nature of my work requires me to compose and reply e-mails on the go. I have lots of meetings and I spend very less time at my office desk. I bought the Note to make my life easier as the screen is bigger and the cut and paste technology introduced in the Note helped me a lot to correspond to my vendors. My Note is awesome and it often made lots of people envy me for having such cool gadget. The only difficulty I encountered was when I reply to emails. My emails are often long and I need to ammend some reports or response to minute meetings. Touch screen made me to make lots of errors when I type. So, I looked for a portable keyboard, small enough to carry around and big enough to type easily. Hence, I found this…

I bought this at Chinavasion for RM115 (including shipping). The delivery time was about 12 days. I was skeptical of this store at first but I decided to take the chance. I am glad that I took the risk. The keyboard has its own case, so it really looks elegant when I bring it around. It is also slim and I can fit it nicely into my handbag. I don’t have to lug around a laptop to do an instant update of blogging. All I needed is my Note and this slim beauty to blog.

What do you think?? Do you like it?? Would you like to get this for your Note or rather use the Note’s touch screen??

Price : RM115 (including shipping)

Pros : Lightweight and the key responds well similar to the conventional keyboard

Cons : Some may find it difficult to carry this because you may need a bigger handbag. I always carry big handbags, so I don’t see this as a problem.

Yay… new Macbook Pro 2012 is on it’s way

Yup, the Macbook Pro 2012 is rumored to be on its way… Unfortunately, it is said that the 15″ model will make its debut soon. Apparently, some of the stores in US is running out of the stock and stopped accepting online orders. Hmmm… that can only mean one thing… the new supposedly thin macbook pro is going to be out soon :) hoooraayyy… Check out the article from macrumors.com for yourself.

As noted by AppleInsider, third-party resellers are beginning to experience shortages of Apple’s 15-inch MacBook Pro, hinting that a refresh may be coming in the near future.
Among those resellers reflecting backorder status on some of the current 15-inch MacBook Pros is J&R, which is now sold out of both the 2.2GHz model, which is listed as “out of stock,” and the 2.4GHz variety, which is currently advertised as “on order.”

In addition, Best Buy has also stopped accepting online orders for the 2.4GHz model for home delivery. The 15-inch notebook is still available on a store-by-store basis, however a quick check of individual store inventory in cities such as Chicago and Austin similarly indicate that between 40 and 60 percent of those shops are similarly reflecting stock outs.
Apple’s own online store is not yet showing any delays in fulfilling orders, but the company prioritizes its own distribution channels over third-party resellers, meaning that shortages generally show up first at those resellers.

Apple has been said to be ramping up production of new 15-inch MacBook Pro models carrying a thinner form factor, with Intel’s rumored April 29 debut of quad-core mobile Ivy Bridge processors undoubtedly driving that timeline.

With dual-core Ivy Bridge processors not launching until early June, it seems that Apple may not be launching upgraded 13-inch MacBook Pro models until that time. As for the 17-inch MacBook Pro, AppleInsider had previously claimed that Apple was likely to use a staggered rollout of the new MacBook Pro form factor, with the 17-inch model not receiving an update until perhaps several months after the smaller models.

Kobo Touch e-Reader – as a gift

My sister in law’s birthday was last month. She wanted Kindle as her birthday present. But the problem is Kindle is not sold here (not officially). Even if I did buy her Kindle from US but she won’t be able to buy books online because Malaysia is one of the country where Amazon doesn’t provide e-books to.

I have an e-book reader in my Samsung Note and I buy books from online too. I realised that Note has the Kobo software which is the first e-book store that is accessible by most of the country. Kobo has a few e-book reader that you can choose from and the version I got for my sister in law was the Kobo Touch e-Reader. Unfortunately, Amazon do not ship to Malaysia directly, so I had to get the http://hopshopgo.com  to send it to me.

I was quite disappointed with the size when I received it because the size of the screen was rather small. I noticed that my 5.3″ Note and the 6″ Touch e-Reader screen size are not much of difference. However, the special E-Ink Display is an awesome technology where you don’t see the reader as a mini tablet but it looks exactly like a paperback. I enjoyed reading books from it as it does not tire my eyes. This is one of the main reason why many opt for an e-Reader despite having a Reader software in their smartphone. Personally, I wouldn’t mind getting this for myself because it is so thin, light and easy to read. Since, it has wifi in it, I am able to download any e-book whenever I want (provided there is an online facility around :P ) I love the fact that I can read the Reader lying down on my bed  using only one hand and in one single tap, the page turns… you don’t even need to use your other hand (yes, I am very lazy to use both hands..hehehe… very painful la to keep your hands up so long :P )

Oohhh… one more interesting thing is, you can win fun awards and gain insight into your unique eReading fingerprint with Reading Life Stats in which you can track the minutes per reading session of your current read, the number of pages you’ve turned, plus see an overview of books completed in your library…

I bought the e-book for USD 110 from Amazon. If you are interested you can check out Kobobooks for more information

Hubby’s Birthday Present

Last year, I got my husband a Blackberry 9780. I was cracking my head this year because I have no clue what to get for him… He loves golf, he loves big cars, he loves big house… all which I am in no position to get him one. hahaha… He wanted PS3,  I told him he already got PS 2. I was thinking and thinking.. finally I decided to get an ipod touch. Boy, was he ecstatic when he got it as his birthday present… I didn’t know he will be super excited…

I ordered the ipod touch from online because I wanted to get the engraving at the back of the device. If you want to get it from the apple stores, you won’t get the engraving… of course you can always visit Central Market to get it engraved. But there is no guarantee that your device will be safe. By the way, I also took the gift option, so the box for iPod Touch did not come in just a regular box but it was kept inside a white box wrapped in a red ribbon with your message printed in a card. Apple’s online customer service is super awesome, I ordered the device on 9th March, the device was projected to be delivered on 14th but I think because of the engraving, they were only be able to send it on 15th. I called them up to ask whether they will be able to send it on 13th but they couldn’t. However, due to the one day late delivery, Apple returned RM50… Wow, I was amazed… by the way, for your information, if you don’t have a credit card… don’t be afraid… all you need to do is just give the customer service a call, and they will be happy to accommodate your request for other payment mode.

Ipod touch functions just the same way like the iphone 4 except that you can’t call and it doesn’t have flash when you take pictures. However, you can make video call via the Face Time. I thought this function will be useful when my husband travels for business. Although it is an awesome device but it has one drawback though, I can’t connect it to the car radio which has the USB port. I am not sure whether I need tweak it or I can only connect to the car radio via bluetooth.. I am still trying to solve the problem by looking into the internet. If you know the solution, do tell me…
